Here's a nice bass I caught in West Virginia a while back on a topwater lure. I was casting off of the dock early in the morning when she exploded out of the water and engulfed my lure! It was a great fight and you can see my broken rod in the picture.This is a great time of the year to fish for bass with topwater lures. I love the thrill of watching big bass blast these lures from below. Topwater poppers, frogs and buzzbaits are great and you need to keep some with you at all times.
Anytime the water is still, especially near dusk and dawn, these are some of my go-to baits.
